I have always spoken, but then we all have, but addressing groups and standing up to deliver my message started while working overseas when part of my job was to share local information with tourists, so that they came away more informed and with a clearer understanding of all the options they could enjoy, sights that couldn’t be missed “speaking to inform” is what you would call it.

Later in my career I went on to address groups at meetings and began training groups of staff, until I realised I really enjoyed public speaking it wasn’t just part of my job, I actually enjoyed it, I wanted to do it for pleasure and I wanted to get better at it.  I joined a local Toastmaster group and have never looked back, with Toastmasters I have taken part in public speaking competitions and had great fun as well as learnt all sorts about the art of communication.  There is nothing like delivering a great line and getting the audience response.

As an active member of the Professional Speakers Association my clients are ensured that I deliver my presentations from workshops to conferences are of a high quality in a professional manner.

On the work side I give presentations on a monthly basis and regularly run training courses.  I have recently spoken at Olympia (Caffé Culture 2015, see image) on the subject of understanding customers and it being the key to good service and was thrilled to receive the following testimonial:
